BARBERSHOP PERFORMANCE AT CHRIST
CHURCH
Christ Church in Covington will host The Mardi
Gras Chorus in a performance to benefit the Thanksgiving Outreach Program for
Caritas in the Covington area on Sunday, November 5, 3-5 p.m. Tickets are $10. Children 12
and under will be admitted free.
In addition to songs by the full chorus of over 40 voices, several quartets will take the
stage to sing barbershop favorites. One of the notable groups is The Chords
‘N’ Airy By Pass. The group, which pokes good-natured fun at the medical
profession, has a total of 145 years of barbershop experience – Stan McDonald (Lead)
28 years, Ray Adams (Baritone) 29 years, Dick Barney (Bass) 41 years, and Doc Cohen
(Tenor) 47 years.
"We’re excited to have the group here and think it will be
a fun way to raise funds to fill Thanksgiving baskets for some needy folks in our
area," said LaVondra Dobbs, president of St. Elizabeth’s guild, which is
sponsoring the program.
