CHRIST CHURCH RALLY DAY HUGE SUCCESS
This year’s Rally Day at Christ Church was entitled the “U-Pick-Um
Ministry
Harvest Festival.” It was a time for all members of this growing parish to
gather together for one service in celebration of all the ministries of
Christ
Church. Following the Eucharistic celebration, parishioners gathered in
Holzhalb Hall, the commons room of the parish house, to see first hand all
the
ministries in Christ Church Parish and to pick one (or more) which called
them.
With the purchase of the old Art Association building across the street
earlier in the year, Christ Church has been able to take advantage of the
additional, much needed space to move the administration offices and create
dedicated areas for ongoing activities such as the Nursery and the
Children’s
Christian Library as well as a new Youth Center for teens.
Sponsored by the Christian Formation and Stewardship Committees, the message
of the day was “listen to what God is calling you to do,” since Stewardship
is
not just a once a year plea for money to carry out the work of the church,
but
a listening to how God is calling us to use our time, talent, and treasure
throughout the year – a way of life.
Following the trip through Holzhalb Hall to learn about ministries such as
Christ Church Youth, Choir, Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Children and Adult
Formation, Third Sunday concerts, Liturgical Arts Festival, Journey in
Christ,
etc., parishioners gathered on the playground for a Pick-Nik complete with
coffee bar, snoballs, kid-wash, cake and pie contest, face painting, and
music
by the “Christ Church Pickers.”
