Christ Church, Covington, was the scene of a Taize-style service on the afternoon of May 13.

This meditative service, held in the darkened, candlelit church, uses simple chants with musical accompaniment, silence, and prayers to bring worshippers into God’s presence. An icon of Christ Crucified was the focus of veneration.

Taize services were held this year at Christ Church on September 23, 2000, as well as April 8, 2001. Beginning in September, 2001, a Taize service will be held on the second Sunday of each month: September 9, October 14, November 11, December 9.
