Childcare is offered on Sunday mornings during June, July and August for children under the age of 3 beginning at 9:45 in the Nursery. Specific information can be obtained from Buddy Anderson at 892-3177.

Christian Formation Classes will resume on Sunday, September 7th. Classes are held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. from September through May for ages 3 to adult. Children gather in front of Parish Hall at 10:00 a.m. and are escorted to their classes. Specific information about our curriculum which includes the use of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Godly Play, and Journey to Adulthood can be found in the Christian Formation brochure. Wednesday Evenings at Christ Church offers programs for all ages, children, youth and adults. Dinner begins at 6:00pm and is followed by programs at 6:30pm. Childcare is offered for infants to age 3 beginning at 6:00pm. The Acolyte Program provides our young people with an opportunity to participate in our liturgical life. All baptized persons, in the third grade or above, are eligible. Adults also serve in this ministry. Once trained, acolytes assist at Sunday services and at other services throughout the year. Their ministry is to lead the processions and to assist the priests during the service. To find out more, please contact Phil Wild at pwild3@hotmail.com.

Children’s Service of the Word is offered for children ages 3-7 during a portion of the 9:00 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Services. Children who choose to participate are led out of the church after the Gospel and return during the exchange of the Peace. “Growing in Grace: Holy Eucharist” is an enriching opportunity for parents and their children ages 3 - 7 to explore the Eucharist. Childcare will be available for younger children. This program will next be offered on October 25, 2008, 10am – 11:30am. Information can be obtained from LaVondra Dobbs (892-3177 or ldobbs@christchurchcovington.com).

“Growing in Grace: Baptism” is an opportunity for parents and their children age 3 - 7 to explore the meaning of Baptism. Childcare will be available for younger children. This program is typically offered each Spring and will next be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009, 10am - 12pm. Mothers & Daughters Weekend. (Grades 2nd to 8th). A two night retreat at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center, this event includes meditations and reflections, Godly Play, art, music, dance, and prayer. Retreat dates are November 7-9, 2008. Father & Son Weekend (Grades 2- 8th). This two night retreat at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center will be held January 30th – February 1, 2009. This is a great opportunity for fathers and sons to enjoy time together playing and exploring, while being supported by other father and son teams. Vacation Bible School is held weekday mornings during one week of the Summer for children ages 4 through those entering 8th grade. It is a multi-disciplinary program of arts, crafts, music, physical activities, and bible study all lead by a talented, loving group of volunteer teachers.
