Commitment Sunday A Huge Success!
Could it have been Christmas Eve? or maybe Easter Sunday? No, it was our 10:00 a.m. service on November 11, Commitment Sunday. Pews were filled; the center aisle was lined with chairs; some worshipers were seated in the loft. The mood was festive as the members of Christ Church worshipped together and made their commitments to our From Generation to Generation Capital Stewardship Campaign.
Father John recapped the goals of our capital campaign: adequate facilities and staff for our current and growing needs and expansion in outreach. You have heard it all before, but more importantly he spoke of faith, hope and love. These are the words that Father John used to describe what is at the heart of From Generation to Generation.
He shared the story of an anonymous parishioner who gave money to the campaign after the September 11th attacks. The gift was one of hope, that even in the face of terror we must continue our campaign to carry out the church’s mission. The gift was also one of faith because the giver knew that it had to be given in that moment, not after the stock market would go up. Finally, the gift was one of love, given in sacrifice and with God’s will in mind. We are all called to give in this way: sacrificially and in faith, hope and love.
Our wonderful worship experience was followed by an equally wonderful fellowship experience—our Pignic.

You Count More Than You Know
! (updated 11/18)One hundred fifty-one
$ 851,500The miracle has just begun. One hundred thirty-nine families
have pledged $798,060 to our Capital Campaign over the next 3
years. Our goal of $1.2 million is within our reach. It will, however, take every
single one of us giving whatever we can to
attain that goal. So, if you think your contribution is too small or
insignificant – IT’S NOT! Just as each brick in a wall is important to its
structure, so each of us is important to our mission. Prayerfully consider what
you can give; then, pledge it to our Capital Campaign. The work that God will
accomplish through us with these funds is great, and the legacy that will be
gifted to future generations is even greater. We are celebrating in faith, but
we are grounded in prayer. We shall continue to pray:
Gracious God
from whom all good things do come,
bless and guide our Capital Campaign,
that all members of this congregation may respond prayerfully, so that our efforts may be successful and that the work of Christ Church may go forward in this community. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Last But Not Least!
This has truly been a campaign from Generation to Generation. There was art work done by our children and an altar frontal done by our teens. Whole families participated in handprints for our tablecloths. Thank you to all who participated.
There were, of course, many,
many, many adults who participated—over 150 in all—preparing the way for this capital campaign, giving selflessly of their time and talent to jump start From Generation to Generation. At Christ Church we are truly blessed by the dedication and generosity of our parishioners, who are always ready to respond with an open heart to what God has called them to do.Thank you!
