The Last Alleluia - Sunday, February 19th Holzhalb Hall 10:15am -11:10am This is the last Sunday for sharing our Alleluias, our chief word of praise and thanksgiving, as we prepare to take on a more somber tone for Lent. This will be a time of glitter and laughter, praise and paint, as we make Alleluias to take up and bury on Ash Wednesday as part of our children’s liturgy. YOU CAN HELP: 3-4 people to help children with simple craft and clean up after
Ash Wednesday - Wednesday, February 22nd Chapel 5:00pm to 6:00pm A special service for children to collect the Alleluias from the chapel and bury them in the memorial garden. A liturgy in the chapel follows to experientially explore repentance and forgiveness and begin this journey of Lent. This service includes the Imposition of Ashes. YOU CAN HELP: 2 people to assist with children’s procession
Praying in Color - Saturday, March 10th Holzhalb Hall 9:00am to 1:00pm A time of laughing, praying, and doodling, Sybil MacBeth will lead us in a workshop to explore this creative method of praying called Praying in Color. Active because you draw your prayers, visual because you see your prayers, and meditative because you revisit your prayers throughout the day. YOU CAN HELP: 3 people to greet participants and help put our juice and donuts for the morning and 4-5 people to help set up lunch for the afternoon as well as clean up
Prayer Hut - Thursdays in Lent Chapel 6:00pm to 7:00pm A quiet time of prayer to explore the language of silence, the language of gesture, the nurturing of the soul. We gather in silence for the first 30 minutes and sing Taize, intercessory prayer, or share a Eucharist the last 30 minutes YOU CAN HELP: 1 person to set up the candles in the chapel, 2 people to be present during the hour and put candles away following
