Adult Christian Formation "Be transformed by the renewal of your minds." Romans 12:2 Adult Classes are held on Sunday mornings at 10:15 a.m. as part of Christian Formation. What can we disagree about and still remain in communion?These questions and others will be explored in this discussion class led by the clergy of Christ Church. - Women Speak The Wisdom Way of Knowing by Cynthia Bourgeault. This group is facilitated by Alison Pelegrin and Christie Forrester and meets in the Parlor of Holzhalb Hall.
- Empowered to Serve Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron and one man sharpens another.” This discussion group for men of all ages focuses on putting faith into action. Facilitated by Gray Mitchell and Jeff Bell, this group meets on the second floor of the administration building.
Weekday opportunities Tuesdays Grace Gathering: A Circle of Women Sharing This group meets on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7pm at home of Fran Phares. There is a fun, creative thread woven into one of the monthly meetings, so don't miss out on this supportive, formational gathering. Bible Study A Revised Common Lectionary bible study held in the Garden Room of Christwood, weekly at 10:00am and led by Christ Church and St. Michael’s clergy. The readings from the previous week’s lectionary are used. Wednesdays Mindful Mothering Please join us for seven sessions as we explore seven principles for parenting with soul. We will use the book Buddha Never Raised Kids and Jesus Didn’t Drive Carpool (And It’s Doubtful the Dalai Lama Ever Changed a Diaper at Dawn) by Vickie Falcone to apply the wisdom of the ages to today’s parenting. Facilitated by Carol LeBlanc, this gathering meets weekly in the Parlor of Holzhalb Hall, 9:30am to 11:00am, January 18th - March 7. EfM -Education for Ministry A four year extensive program of the School of Theology of the University of the South, in which participants study the Old and New Testaments, church history, and twentieth century theology. Preregistration required. Meeting in the conference room of the St. Cecilia House on Wednesday evenings 6:45-9:00 pm Facilitated by Sherry Beale and Elizabeth Higgs. Class will start on September 7. Thursdays Prayer Hut We gather on Thursday evenings 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Chapel. We enter into an air of quiet peace, respect and confidentiality; receive stories of pain, sorrow and hope, and we pray, lifting our prayers to God in unity, remembering that “Where two or more are gathered together in My Name, I am there in the midst of them.” The first Thursday of the month there is a Celebration of Holy Eucharist, Rite III with anointing for healing.
