Welcoming Anne Maxwell I am delighted to share with you the wonderful news that the Rev. Anne Maxwell will join Christ Church as Associate Rector on a full time basis August 1. Some of you already know her from her occasional preaching and teaching work in this parish and her presence around town with husband Bill and son Sam. Anne is a gifted, mature priest full of energy and zest for life. She will bring a happy differentness to the ministry of the old males (i.e., Winston and I) have shared here since last August. We are thrilled and you will be as well! Anne and family will worship with us on June 14 – please come to say your prayers and stay for our pot luck lunch when you can welcome them personally.Anne was educated at Boston College and holds two graduate degrees, one in counseling and an M. Div. from Sewanee. Her father and brother are also Episcopal priests, so, for good or ill, she comes by the clerical collar honestly. Before she and Bill came to Covington, Anne served parishes in Atlanta where she was ordained priest in 2004. Anne will share in all ministries at Christ Church — pastoral, worship, teaching, and preaching – but will also have a particular focus on younger families and youth in both parish and school. She is creative and perceptive, thoughtful and strong. At a time when there is so much good will, good energy, and good ministry around this church, I believe she is just the right person to help us continue to grow and serve. She will be a great fit for Christ Church and a real blessing for this community!
