Clergy Discretionary Funds are intended to allow for works of mercy and other good works that might not fall into a parish budget. The canons of the Episcopal Church envision that funds will be available to the clergy in charge of a congregation for "pious and charitable" purposes. At Christ Church, provision has been made for this by the establishment of Discretionary Funds for the Rector and Associates. The parish budget contributes each month to the funds, and contributions from parishioners are welcomed. The funds are audited annually by the Vestry.

Christ Church Endowment Fund supports capital needs and outreach ministries at Christ Church. It is managed by a five member committee, appointed by the Vestry, and can offer a number of financial instruments to help in estate planning. The fund also accepts other special gifts that support the ministry of Christ Church.

The CEEP/Summer Witness Program is a cooperative effort between Christ Church and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans. It is a five week summer educational enrichment program that serves 60 promising disadvantaged students from our community.

The United Thank Offering is a personal and family devotional program of the Episcopal Church. By practicing the discipline of daily prayers and thanksgiving, you express your deepest faith in your thankfulness to God. Every cent you place in your blue U.T.O. Box, representing your thankful prayers today, is given in grants to people all over the world as well as in the US. There are ingatherings held twice yearly to collect the contents of your Blue Box. The  national UTO Committee awards and administers grants within the framework of the policies and procedures of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society (DFMS) of The Episcopal Church. Blue Boxes are available in narthex of the church and the church office.

The Bishop's (Discretionary) Fund aids in the ministry of the Bishop of Louisiana by enhancing his ability to cover expenses not budgeted by the Diocesan Convention.  It is similar to a rector's discretionary fund. Through contributions to this fund, he is able to help clergy, host visitors, support laity and their ministry, etc. Purple envelopes are sent to churches shortly before the bishop's visitation or donations to this fund can be mailed to Bishop's Discretionary Fund, Diocese of Louisiana, 1623 Seventh Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70115.

The Bishop's Mission Fund is used to support a particular mission or a worthy cause chosen by the Bishop. A "call" is issued each year and a yellow envelope is sent to everyone in the diocese in an issue of CHURCHWORK. All gifts received are listed in CHURCHWORK unless an individual giver expresses the desire to remain anonymous. CHURCHWORK is the diocesan publication that is sent to all Episcopalians in the Diocese of Louisiana at no charge. If you would like to receive CHURCHWORK, you may ask the church office to add your name to the list or you may send your request directly to the diocesan publications coordinator Heather Parker at hparker@edola.org or at 225.706.6634.

Episcopal Community Services exists to serve the poor, speak to issues of justice, and build what Dr. King would call “the Beloved Community” throughout the Diocese of Louisiana. Our work is in south Louisiana, but our mission is one of service to the whole church. Founded in part as the Office of Disaster Response in fall 2005 with support from Episcopal Relief and Development, this recent disaster recovery work is in addition to ECS’s decades of experience providing scholarships and educational support to African-American youth throughout south Louisiana, thanks to the legacy left by Blessed Frances Joseph Gaudet and the fund that bears her name.

The Episcopal Relief and Development Fund (ERD, formerly known as the Presiding Bishop's Fund) was created by the Episcopal Church as the primary means through which all Episcopalians can express their compassion for people in need throughout the world. It raises, receives, and distributes funds for the relief of human suffering: providing emergency relief in times of disaster, assisting in rehabilitation and follow-up response to crisis situations, and supporting development of projects that address root causes of suffering. Checks may be written (or given) to Christ Church and designated to Episcopal Relief and Development for a particular disaster.
