Vestry Report
January, 2002
- Accolades to all of the Christ Church community!! Dick Mayer (our beloved treasurer), once again reports we have finished our fiscal year in the black. As we have stepped forward in faith and ambitiously expanded our ministries (and budget), God continues to show us his abundance and provide for our stewardship. The words “pressed down, beyond measure, to make room for more” come to mind. Outreach beyond our walls continues to grow and we in turn are being blessed as a result.
- Barbara Sears, Mother Pamela and the Outreach Committee, have done an outstanding job in identifying needs within our community. The outreach committee has recommended we move forward with our commitment of building homes for the Habitat for Humanity organization. The vestry approved the building and funding of one home and committed to funding another. As you might remember, this is one of our goals of the capital campaign. This will challenge all of us to get involved. Again, I believe we in turn are being blessed, in large part as a result of our efforts to help others. Talk it up! I feel very confident Barbara would love to hear from YOU!
- The “Capital Improvements” part of our Capital Campaign is also gaining some momentum. Fran Paddison has agreed to spearhead our rezoning efforts for the property directly across from the school. Thank you Fran. Budgets and expected cash flows are being established with the help of Dick Mayer, Choose Taurman and Paul Gariepy, and plans are soon to be drawn for additional facilities. I am glad to report much care is being taken to insure the “facilities and needs” identified within our capital campaign are given top priority in the design and master plan of proposed improvements. Again, we want your input and ideas. Please call the front office for information and details as they develop.
- The Vestry approved in principal the support of Christ Episcopal Schools proposal to begin construction of the gym enclosure and expansion of the facilities at the Hwy 21 site. This will include some debt and the establishment of a line of credit and as I understand will need approval from the standing committee of the Diocese before this can move forward. Construction is expected to begin in June of this year.
Thanks to All & God Bless!
