Sr. Wardens Report/Vestry Highlights

Vestry Report
February, 2002

  • At the last vestry meeting we toured the Habitat Site and the Food Bank. The fact that we are able to provide funds and labor for homes in our community is a testament to our community outreach. The Habitat House “Ground Breaking” is Thursday, March 14th 2002, at the corner of 33rd & Buchanan, Please come! There are several opportunities to get involved. Contact Barbara Sears or the front office to Sign Up for the various groups that will be working at the site. We Need Volunteers!! This should be Great Fun and a Rewarding experience for us all.
  • The Capital Campaign is again making progress. A Site Action Committee has been formed and meetings have taken place to move forward with concrete plans for facilities design and construction. Randy Aultman, our architect will be facilitating this project. Many thanks to Dawn Cox-Hefte, the committee chair and all of the volunteers. We are gaining some momentum!
  • We are moving forward with the land acquisition of the property directly across from the school building fronting New Hampshire. It will come before the vestry at the next meeting.
  • The Vestry will also consider the final approval of a line of credit in order to begin the facilities expansion of Christ Episcopal School at the Hwy 21 site. Construction is expected to begin in June of this year.
  • The nominating committee is in full swing and we might soon be Contacting You! We will publish the names of willing candidates wishing to serve on the Vestry very soon. Be on the lookout!
