November, 2001
- The Generation to Generation Capital Campaign has been a tremendous
success financially, and even more so by bringing Us Together in
Spirit. We have raised over $870,000 by last reports, in property
and financial commitments! Now we are moving forward with:
- Continued meetings with the architect, Randy Aultman, AIA to
develop and revise a master plan. This has and is being done
through a series of individual and group meetings. I believe the
various needs and wants of the congregation are being addressed.
Please speak up now if you have special concerns, thoughts or
ideas. We welcome your input
- Forming a committee to create a budget, time line and Aphase
plan@ for
building and construction.
- Forming a group (another word for committee), to spearhead the
re-zoning and acquisition of the property we need.
- Considering and responding to the Outreach Committee=s
recommendation to Build 3 Habitat for Humanity houses over the
next 3 years, and fund some sort of Aout
of the country@
medical mission or construction project.
- Deciding on the addition of a full/part time inter generational
coordinator or staff person.
- Of course all of these decisions will be based on prayerful
consideration of all available resources; personnel, existing
facilities and financial capabilities. Of the $870,000 raised to
date, our commitment and obligation the Diocese is about $137,000.
We have been extremely blessed in this endeavor, especially in
light of the current economic conditions. Let us continue in being
responsive stewards to Our Fathers Call.
- So Sad, Good Bye, Good Luck and God Bless! Tom and Susan Page are
moving to Gulf Shores. He has a new opportunity and we will miss them
both. Tom will probably find a new mens club and Sue will have to get
used to a new kitchen. We will appoint, or nominate and vote for a new
vestry member to serve out Tom's
remaining time on the vestry. I believe this is his last meeting and
he is moving in December and 2 2
years remain on his term.
- We will be reviewing the 2002 Annual Budget for approval at the
December vestry meeting. Dick Mayer has reported that our financial
condition looks pretty good at this point.
- Next month the vestry will nominate and elect new members to the
finance and endowment committees
Thanks to all for your participation.
